For some inexplicable reason, the same people who like on-demand abortion hate laws intended to protect kids from sexual exploitation after they’re born, and they’ve been especially busy the last few months putting up roadblocks to the enforcement of several such laws recently passed by state legislators in Texas.

The latest development in this absurd contest is a ruling by a Reagan-appointed federal judge (read it below) finding that a law meant to protect kids from being exposed to lewd sexual performances violates the right to free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment.

After previously issuing a preliminary injunction against Senate Bill 12 before it could go into effect, 84-year-old U.S. District Judge David Hittner ruled this week that the law is unconstitutional because it “impermissibly infringes on the First Amendment and chills free speech.” Specifically, he determined the law is not narrowly focused and discriminates against certain content and viewpoints, creating a restraint on protected speech.

Second Lawsuit Filed to Challenge Law Protecting Children From Sexually Explicit Performances

The Texas House voted earlier this year to honor the LGBT groups now suing to block the state’s new law.

Following the ACLU of Texas filing a lawsuit challenging a measure to protect children from sexually explicit performances, a second lawsuit has been filed to block the new law.

Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP), a group of lawyers who work to advance civil rights for the “most vulnerable populations,” is filing the lawsuit on behalf of a theater company called VORTEX Repertory Company, several Texas LGBT Chambers of Commerce, and individual performers.

3 Antifa Members Arrested During Drag Protest in Fort Worth

The members were arrested during attacks on Fort Worth police officers and protestors.

At a protest during a drag brunch targeting children at the Fort Brewery and Pizza in Fort Worth, three antifa members were arrested by Fort Worth police for assaulting officers and protestors.

The drag brunch was advertised as “the perfect event to celebrate a special occasion with your friends, family, or coworkers, or to simply indulge in a fun-filled day out with your loved ones.”

Texas Lawmaker Files New Bill to Ban ‘All-ages’ Drag Shows in Texas
“With HB 1266, Texas children will be prevented from being exposed to overly sexual content that will rob them of their innocence for the sake of furthering radical ideologies.”

State Rep. Nate Schatzline, a Republican from Fort Worth, has filed House Bill 1266, which would ban so-called “family-friendly” drag shows. The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to include drag shows as a sexually oriented business, meaning minors would no longer be able to attend.

“With HB 1266, Texas children will be prevented from being exposed to overly sexual content that will rob them of their innocence for the sake of furthering radical ideologies,” Schatzline said.
